The holidays are supposed to be a distraction from the rigors of life with the upbeat music, decorations, lights and good food, family and friends. Yet for many, the holidays are a painful reminder that loved ones are no longer with us. COVID this year has given us many challenges making the gathering of family and friends even more difficult, combine that with the loss of your loved ones I find working as a Psychic Medium the feeling of loss and separation is even greater in 2020. When people call me for a reading/spirit connection they express feelings of loss and how they miss their loved ones. So, I am inspired to write this blog tonight.

Dear Felicia: Christmas is coming, and I have always enjoyed the holidays, but my brother’s passing has left me not wanting to celebrate or decorate a tree. Do you think they celebrate Christmas on the other side? If I thought they were celebrating too, maybe I wouldn’t feel so sad. — Sarah

Dear Sarah: Christmas can be one of the toughest times to get through. We have such fond memories of our younger years when mom, dad and siblings were all close. With the passing of our parents or siblings, the thought of celebrating without them can seem daunting.

A few years ago, I happened to find a book called “Christmas in Heaven” by Sylvia Brown in a local bookstore. Sylvia Brown was one of the first mediums to bring mediumship into the light.

This book has given me a better understanding of how they might be celebrating at the same time. Using my gifts, I now tap into what is happening myself. When I asked my guides what Christmas is like in heaven, I heard a loud voice telling me it’s a day of rejoicing as our loved ones gather close to us in spirit as we celebrate the holiday. They tell me during mediumship readings with my clients they know when we “take out old family ornaments, china, and other things to decorate and gather for the holidays!” They join us in the kitchen as we prepare our “mothers favorite recipes” or pull out the “family cookbook” to continue holiday traditions. There are right there with you as you’re doing these things!

“Gift-giving is a wonderful Christmas tradition, in fact, even spirits and angels give gifts to us in the form of memories or feelings. It’s just not as festive in Heaven as it is here on earth.

“Christmas is celebrated 365 days in heaven on December 25 that light is even brighter.

“Heaven looks like Earth in its most natural, unspoiled beauty.”

“Every living thing that God created exists in heaven.”

“Every living thing that God created exists in heaven.”

“Our spirits spend eternity enjoying the company of the world and the people we love.”

“There are billions of spirits and angels in heaven.”

Here are some quotes from Sylvia’s book:

“Imagine the most beautiful sunset you have ever seen, a garden full of roses in perfect bloom, and Roman columns accented with green vines. Picture yourself together with the people and animals you have loved throughout your lifetime mingling with angels in paradise. Now see yourself standing in the presence of God. The scene you just created is not a fictional place. This is an area in heaven called The Rose Garden. This is where Christmas is celebrated on the Other Side.”

Sylvia’s words give you the idea of how our loved ones are celebrating on the other side, but also gives your heart a warm glow to know and understand that life goes on just a little distance from us.

When we celebrate, our loved ones are not just celebrating in heaven but are very much around us celebrating with us also.

I always tell my clients, “If our positions were switched, would you want them to be happy and living a joyous life here on Earth, or would you want your loved ones to be sad and not celebrating? I believe they would want us to be happy.”

Take some time this year to honor your loved ones by celebrating, decorating and, at the same time, honoring them in some way.

When I give a Christmas party, I ask them all to bring a picture of their loved ones no longer here with us. I set up a table with flickering lights and an angel, and as they came in with the pictures of their loved ones, they were added to the table. We take a moment to invite and acknowledge their loved ones calling them close!

I believe our loved ones rejoice when they see us rejoicing. Enjoy your Christmas and holidays, and know they are never far away and are always in your heart.

If you’re feeling the loss of a loved one and need some reassurance they they are close by I suggest that you book a reading with a medium. Ask them before booking what type of readings do they offeer. Do they offer evidence of life after death and what types of evidence or memories do they offer? Do they record your session for you to keep and listen to again and again!?

Take comfort in knowing you are never alone…..your loved ones are always with you!
